Abstract

The theoretical assumptions of social sciences must keep logic and historical consistence with reality. However, all the three basic assumptions about human behaviors-economic man, unbounded rationality and complete information-in neoclassical economics are not realistic. Among these, economic man is core assumption, unbounded rationality is primary step assumption, and complete information is peripheral assumption. Therefore, the basic development direction of modern economics is to broaden these three assumptions mentioned above, especially broaden the assumption of economic man. Unfortunately, mainstream economics researches mostly develop along with the paths extending the last two assumptions. As for the reasons, firstly, almost all mainstream economists fear that a completely revising on core assumption not only faces to current arduous task, but also would subvert previous economics system totally; secondly, mainstream economists insist that theory itself is abstract so that it is not necessary to be tally with the reality. However, both the two reasons mentioned above are not reasonable. Firstly, theory developments often based on the foundation of hypercriticism and critique; secondly, academic exploration is a essentially hard work; thirdly, the authentic and reasonable abstract is one keeping to the facts and development of society.
